I have almost 100 pairs of Birkenstocks, collected for many years. I know my size, style and fit. The last two pairs I have purchased have run smaller than all my previous pairs. I don't know what is going on, but the Birkenstock sizing has changed. I've worn a 39 MED/REG for years and years, but this 39 fit like a 38. My foot size hasn't changed; all my older pairs are fine. As I have so many Birkenstocks anyway, I suppose it is time to stop buying them. As far as the look, it is a beautiful sandal (white galaxy sparkly and pretty), but I can't get too excited about a somewhat too short, too narrow Birkenstock that is marked "regular fit." It wasn't bad enough to hassle with sending it back, but I am disappointed.
